Born and raised in Tel-Aviv, Israel, Roy Kariok picked up the guitar in early age and immediately fell in love. While studying with different private teachers in his teens Roy attended the renowned Rimon School of Music in Israel where he graduated with honors. While still in school Roy toured Israel and made several appearances at the Red Sea Jazz Festival supporting different artists as well as with his own then-popular Jazz-Rock band “Timezone”. Soon he made a name for himself as one of the top upcoming young guitar players in Israel, During 2002 Roy won the “Jazz player of the year” competition in Israel and was sent to Helsinki, Finland to represent Israel at the yearly IASJ jazz meeting (100 most promising jazz students from all over the world) for a week of performance and classes.
Roy decided to go ahead and audition for the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where he received a scholarship to continue his education. After graduating in 2005 with honors he decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue his dream and move forward with his career.
Since his move to the Los Angeles Roy has been fortunate to record and tour with different artists all over the world. Among them are Toni Braxton (pictured left), The Backstreet Boys, Keyshia Cole, Natalia Lesz, Paula Valstein, and MOSHAV.
